Barcelona will work hard to defeat Alaves to win the Copa Del Rey as a consolation for the Spanish La Liga defeat against Real Madrid

Barcelona will take on Alaves in the final of the Copa del Rey. The Blaugrana will be looking to win the trophy as a scant consolation for what has been a very difficult season for them. Luis Enrique announced in March that he will be stepping down as coach of Barcelona at the end of the season and this will be his last game in charge at the Nou Camp. The match will be played at the Vincente Calderon and it might be the last ever game to be played at that stadium, the home of Atletico Madrid, as the club will be moving to a new stadium next season. We would expect Barcelona and Alaves to give the stadium a final game to remember.

There will be three other finals that will be taking place across Europe this weekend. In Germany, Borussia Dortmund will take on Eintracht Frankfurt at the Olympiastadion in Berlin in the final of the DFB Pokal, while Angers will battle PSG in the Coupe de France final at the Stade de France and Benfica will be looking to complete the league and cup double this season with a win over Vitoria de Guimares in the final of the Taca de Portugal at the Estadio Nacional.

BSc and HND holders now receives equal salaries.

The Federal Government has approved same salary for holders of University degrees (BSc) and holders of Polytechnic Higher National Diploma (HND) in service. A board meeting chaired by the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, approved the regularization of the salaries on Tuesday in Abuja, according to a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji. “The board has directed that all officers with HND to be upgraded to COMPASS 08, which is the salary Grade Level for holders of degree certificates at entry point. “While the nomenclature for the HND holders will start with the rank of Senior Inspector, the Degree holders are with the rank of Assistant Superintendent II,” a statement from the permanent secretary of the ministry, Abubakar Magaji, said

Niger Delta youth demand removal of the South-South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria from the Biafra map

Niger Delta youth under the support of Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC), vowed to resist war drums beaten by the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South-South geopolitical zone of the country. This was made known by the National Coordinator of the NDYC, Comrade Israel Uwejeyan, after an emergency meeting held in Warri. He declared that youth in the South-South geopolitical zone of the country stand for United and Indivisible Nigeria, therefore called on leaders of IPOB to erase the region from its Biafra map with immediate effect.
