Kelechi Iheanacho could be among the summer clear-out Pep Guardiola will conduct at Manchester City

Kelechi Iheanacho the Manchester City striker is set to become the most surprising member of manager Pep Guardiola’s summer clear-out at the Etihad Stadium with the club willing to listen to offers for the 20-year-old Nigerian. German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have already expressed an interest in the young forward who was tipped for the top by former City boss Manuel Pellegrini and has scored 21 goals for City despite making only 20 starts.

Under Guardiola however, Iheanacho’s progress has been restricted by the £27million signing of young Brazilian international centre forward Gabriel Jesus and there is an acceptance he could move on to help finance a rebuild at the club this summer.

Dortmund are likely to be able to offer Champions League football next season and the chance to play with star forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if he stays at the club. Manchester City are likely to ask close to £20million for a player they signed in 2014 from the Taye Academy in Nigeria and who is under contract until 2021. Southampton and Hoffenheim have enquired about loans but it is understood City are also prepared to look at permanent transfers.

Niger Delta youth demand removal of the South-South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria from the Biafra map

Niger Delta youth under the support of Niger Delta Youth Congress (NDYC), vowed to resist war drums beaten by the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) in the South-South geopolitical zone of the country. This was made known by the National Coordinator of the NDYC, Comrade Israel Uwejeyan, after an emergency meeting held in Warri. He declared that youth in the South-South geopolitical zone of the country stand for United and Indivisible Nigeria, therefore called on leaders of IPOB to erase the region from its Biafra map with immediate effect. Uwejeyan also disassociated NDYC from some youth groups whom he described as nonexistent declaring support for Biafra, and added that they have strongly aligned with the statement of the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, recently in Sokoto, “Rivers State is not a part of Biafra land’. BSc and HND holders now receives equal salaries.

The Federal Government has approved same salary for holders of University degrees (BSc) and holders of Polytechnic Higher National Diploma (HND) in service. A board meeting chaired by the Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, approved the regularization of the salaries on Tuesday in Abuja, according to a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Abubakar Magaji. “The board has directed that all officers with HND to be upgraded to COMPASS 08, which is the salary Grade Level for holders of degree certificates at entry point. “While the nomenclature for the HND holders will start with the rank of Senior Inspector, the Degree holders are with the rank of Assistant Superintendent II,” a statement from the permanent secretary of the ministry, Abubakar Magaji, said
